Join in Prayer For Our School!

Hello All -

Welcome to the site. The purpose of this site is to organize a continuous, passionate prayer effort specifically for The Academy at Grace and Peace. We pray that God will continue to bless The Academy, and that His will be done in everything associated with The Academy at Grace and Peace.

We believe that God hears and responds to the prayers of His people, as illustrated in Scripture:

  • 2 Chronicles 7:14: "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."
  • Matthew 18: 19-20: “Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them."
  • 1 John 5: 14-15: "Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him."

HOW THIS SITE WORKS:

We are looking to create an online prayer community to add to the prayer ministry that is currently headed up by Donna Cobb onsite at The Academy. This site is in no way intended to replace the vital prayer efforts that Donna leads each Wednesday at 9:00 AM onsite at The Academy. This website is simply intended to ADD to Donna's efforts, not REPLACE them. We encourage all to join with Donna whenever possible, as there is no substitute for believers getting together in person to pray. At the same time, we recognize that many people cannot be onsite at The Academy on Wednesday mornings to pray in person, but would still like to be part of a group prayer effort for The Academy. We have designed a way for people to come together online in a corporate prayer effort for The Academy.

We would like to identify people that will commit to praying for a specific Academy teacher/staff member on a daily basis. It is very easy to get involved - all you need to do is send an email to johnpburke@yahoo.com with the subject line "Count Me In". Each week, you will receive an email with the name of the Academy teacher/staff member that you should pray for that week. If the teacher/staff member has a particular prayer request for that week, you will be notified of that request when you receive your weekly email. That's it - all it takes is one simple email on your part to get involved! We are looking to have as many people as possible praying for our faithful Academy teachers/staff - won't you join us?

IDEAS FOR PRAYER:

1) Consider setting aside a regular time each day in prayer for The Academy. We all have different schedules, and some will be able to devote more time in prayer for The Academy than others. Even if it is a small amount of time, consider making prayer for The Academy part of your daily routine.

2) Consider praying together as a family. For those that have children that attend The Academy, consider setting aside a regular time each day where you can come together as a family to pray for The Academy.

3) Consider getting together with friends and neighbors to pray together in person. Although this is an online prayer effort, if you are able to get together with others to pray in person at your home or another location, do so. We may be organizing online, but it still would be a good idea to pray in person whenever possible!

4) Do you have any relatives or friends that live far away from Toms River, NJ? Pass this website along to them - it would be great to have people around the world praying for The Academy! Who do you know that would be happy to pledge their time in prayer for The Academy? Get them involved!

OUR PRAYER FOR THE ACADEMY:

1) It is our prayer that this website would encourage many people to become excited and passionate about praying for The Academy.

2) It is our prayer that God would inspire the leadership of The Academy. We pray that God would inspire and direct the steps of all that are responsible for the direction and oversight of The Academy.

3) It is our prayer that God would bless, encourage, and strengthen all Academy teachers and administrative staff.

4) It is our prayer that God would ignite the hearts of all Academy parents to support the Academy in prayer and service.

5) It is our prayer that God would abundantly bless each student at The Academy, and that every single child would come to know Jesus Christ in an intimate, personal way. We pray that all students would receive an unshakable, Christ-centered, Biblical worldview that will provide them with a solid foundation for the rest of their life. We claim Proverbs 22:6 for each student at The Academy: "Train-up a child in the way he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it."

Again, to get involved, simply send an email to johnpburke@yahoo.com with the subject line "Count Me In".
